Three friends celebrating one life
The 3 Peaks 10k
What
Three peaks, one mission.
Where & When
On April 4th, three of his closest friends climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in succession, rowing 10,000 metres following each descent.
Why
On March the 8th 2025 McCoy “Topsy” Turner finally lost his battle with complex PTSD and in solitude, committed suicide.
His passing has left a void in the world that cannot be replaced. McCoy was a wonderful father, caring deeply for his two sons. Two months before his death, Topsy undertook one final and powerful act of purpose. He climbed Mount Batur in Bali carrying a rowing machine, and at the summit rowed 10,000 metres—an act of raw determination intended to raise awareness and funds for those suffering with PTSD, and to shine light into a darkness so many endure quietly.
To Respect & celebrate McCoy.
To support his boys.
To raise awareness for the growing crisis of men’s mental health.
This is for McCoy.
This is for those still fighting.
This is to remind men that they are not alone.
McCoy had fought with his demons for his entire life and yet he was described by all that knew him as a beacon of light; having a warmth, a kindness and an energy that would light up any room. To so many, it truly is invisible.
Our challenge was not only about remembrance—it is about love, responsibility, and family. Our aim is to raise money to support McCoy’s two sons, as they face the unimaginably difficult road ahead without their father.
Secondly to increase awareness for the ever growing problem of within our population, men’s mental ill-health.
We hope that McCoy’s friends, military Oppo’s, and the global CrossFit community will come together once more—this time to support the children of one of the very best men many of us were fortunate enough to know.
By supporting the boys, we continue McCoy’s legacy of strength, service, and care for others.
